Navigator Library Access Project (NLAP)
A pathway to maintaining quality of life and independence.
Thanks to the generous support of the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation and the Profield Foundation, a unique client services project is being undertaken in NSW called the Navigator Library Access Project.
The project is designed to help those who have difficulty reading because of Macular Degeneration.
The Navigator is an easy-to-use, hand-held portable device that reads books, magazines and newspapers aloud. The project will make the Navigator available to people affected by MD, through their local library.
Libraries will provide the ongoing service of loading books, magazines and newspapers onto the navigator either through the home-lending service or via the usual “walk-in” service.
If you live in NSW and meet certain criteria then you may be eligible to submit an expression of interest to participate in the project.
